Compassion Fatigue is the latest in an evolving concept
that is known in the field of Traumatology as "Secondary Traumatic Stress"
(STS). Most often this phenomenon is associated with the "cost of caring"
(Dr. Charles Figley, 1982) for others in emotional pain.
Empathic engagement with clients and their trauma can result in Compassion
Fatigue (CF). This term describes the painful transformation in the
caregivers' inner experience.
Wonderful conference!
Very insightful!
I will recommend this
seminar to others!
My first seminar
but it's not my last!
I felt all the people
involved with registration,
to waiting and serving
were so nice
and accommodating!
This is one conference I am
sure I would attend next year
– it is incredibly helpful!
Wish it could monthly.
Can't wait until next year!
What a great day!
Speakers were great,
food was great,
great turn out
Invigorating day!
Informative, inspiring workshop!
Loved group discussions and
the relaxed atmosphere.
I love coming every year.
I find it an important reminder:
the value of self-help,
self-care, self-awareness.
